Billing Address Change

Mail Server Upgrade Completed

Happy Dog Mail Servers are now 100% SSL - this means extra security for you and your emails!
Now that we have migrated to this platform all clients must log into their emails using SSL/TLS. In plain English this simply means you must now download your email using a secure login, and in order to do this you may need to change some settings in your email program, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc.
Please note, this does not apply to Webmail.
If you exclusively use one of our two webmail programs for email, either Horde or Roundcube, then you are already automatically logging in securely and you can ignore the rest of this article. The following instructions apply only if you are using an email program that is installed on your computer, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, etc. If you are not certain if this applies to you or not, please feel free to contact us by email, or by phone at 541-201-8617 x1.
Changes you must make to your personal email program's configuration:
In most cases the only settings you will need to change are for your Incoming Mail Server and possibly your Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: - Change your Incoming Mail Server to: ultra3.happydoghosting.net
- Change your Incoming Mail Server port to 995, if asked
- Change your Outgoing Mail Server to: ultra3.happydoghosting.net*
- Change your Outgoing Mail Server port to 465, if asked
- Check any box that states something similar to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both Incoming and Outgoing servers
* Note, if your Outgoing Mail Server presently has your ISPs mail server entered instead of our mail server, then you will continue to use that server for outgoing mail and you should not change it.
If you follow the above instructions everything should work properly for you. However, we understand that email configuration can sometimes be confusing, so we will be standing by to assist you if you have any problems or questions regarding this. Microsoft Front Page
10/01/2010:
Microsoft has announced they will no longer support their deprecated "MS Front Page" server extensions. This means we will be removing Front Page extensions from all of our servers by November 1st due to security concerms of an outdated application. If you have a web site that is built using Front Page extensions you will need to remove the outdate code by the removal date. Don't worry, hardly anyone has a web site anymore that uses MS Front Page extensions, so if you're not sure, you probably don't. Please feel free to contact us if you would like us to verify this for you.
Happy Dog Twitter Updates

We've added Twitter to our system to allow rapid announcements of technical issues or alerts regarding our servers. Twitter announcements are located on our Technical Support page in the left column under the "Current Server Status" heading. You can also subscribe to our Twitter alerts to keep updated on your web site's performance.
Newest Web Server Now Online!

Our newest and fastest high speed web server is now online, and boy, are we excited as a kid with a new toy! This is the fastest and most efficient web server we have ever offered and is being used for most of our shared hosting accounts. The reviews are in - as one client exclaimed, "We are amazed at how fast our online store loads now. We thought it was fast before, but now it's instantaneous!" Music to our ears. Our goal is to always provide the fastest, most reliable web hosting possible for our customers and we work every day to achieve that goal.

New Phone Number

We have wired our office with a new VoIP phone system and with this comes a new phone number. What is VoIP? Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) allows phone calls to be made over the Internet through IP-based networks, rather than through conventional phone lines. This allows for greater flexibility in both local office connections and outbound calls to virtually anywhere in the world, usually at substantially reduced rates. Our new VoIP lines will allow us to communicate better with our customers both during regular office hours and after hours.
